Duty Station:  Mpanga Tea Factory

Job Role: Monitor, repair and install electrical part for the machinery, carryout generator maintenance in line with the predetermined schedules and the relevant policies and guidelines

Job description;

1. Shall assist the Senior Factory Technician in all electrical related systems
2. Carryout electrical Installation work for the factory and the factory premises
3. Monitor and attend to performance of machinery electrical parts, diagnose, Identify and report faults in line with engineering guidelines
4. Perform generator servicing and scheduled maintenance in line with the drawn schedules and engineering guidelines
5. Provide technical support to staff and other colleagues in the factory in line with the relevant policies and laws
6. Document and maintain up-to-date records of the repairs, installations and fitting works in line with the company policies and guidelines

 

Person specifications;

 

Qualification and Experience:

• Diploma in Electrical engineering or its Equivalent

• At least two years’ experience in machinery maintenance in production environment, preferably in tea industry
• Knowledge of electrical Installation

 

Skills and Abilities:

• Supervisory skills
• Electrical installations and wiring
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal, communication skills

 

6. Mechanic (Welder and Fabricator) (One Post)

Report To:      Senior Factory Technician

Duty Station:  Mpanga Tea Factory

Job Role: Monitor, repair and service factory machinery, carryout installations and up-grades in line with the Business Plan and the relevant policies and guidelines.

 

Job description;

1. Monitor machinery performance, diagnose, Identify and report faults in line with engineering guidelines
2. Repair, install and carryout fittings for machinery in line with engineering procedures
3. Carry out fabrication and welding works for the machinery parts as required
4. Perform machine servicing and scheduled maintenance in line with the drawn schedules and engineering guidelines
5. Provide technical support to workers and other colleagues in the factory in line with the relevant policies and laws
6. Document and maintain up-to-date records of the repairs, installations and fitting works in line with the company policies and guidelines
7. Any other duty as allocated by your supervisor

 

Person specification;

Qualification and Experience

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related relevant qualification

• Mechanical engineering craft practice/fitter machinist part II At least two-year experience in machinery maintenance in production environment, preferably in tea industry
• Knowledge of;
  • Tea processing machinery
  • Plant and machinery assembling
  • Welding and bearing fitting

• Ability to use physical effort and lift heavy machinery
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal, communication skills
